Welcome to Resourface. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Resourface application and services. By using Resourface, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Resourface, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Resourface after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the application.
2. Description of Service
Resourface is a knowledge management application designed to help you capture, organize, and resurface information. The service includes AI-powered features that automatically categorize content and suggest relevant items based on context and usage patterns.
As a beta product, features and functionality may change. We appreciate your feedback as we continue to improve the experience.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
We use Clerk for authentication services. Your account security is protected by industry-standard practices, but you are responsible for using a strong, unique password and keeping your login information secure.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you save to Resourface ("Your Content"). By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the service to you.
Our AI features analyze Your Content to generate summaries, extract topics, and identify related items. This processing happens automatically as part of the service and is designed to help you rediscover valuable information.
You are responsible for ensuring that Your Content does not violate any laws or third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Resourface only for lawful purposes. You may not use the service to store or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, interfere with the service's operation, or use automated means to access the service beyond normal API usage.
6. AI-Powered Features
Resourface uses artificial intelligence to enhance your experience, including automatic topic extraction, content summarization, and contextual resurfacing of saved items.
AI-generated content such as summaries and topic suggestions are provided for convenience and may not be perfectly accurate. You should review AI-generated content and not rely on it for critical decisions.
We use third-party AI services (including Anthropic's Claude) to power these features. Your Content may be processed by these services subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
7. Beta Service
Resourface is currently in beta. This means the service is provided "as is" and may contain bugs, errors, or interruptions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that all features will work as expected.
During the beta period, we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features without notice. We value your feedback and will do our best to communicate significant changes in advance.
8. Intellectual Property
Resourface and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The Resourface name, logo, and brand elements may not be used without our prior written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Resourface and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill.
Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
10. Termination
You may stop using Resourface at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service.
Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. We will make reasonable efforts to allow you to export Your Content before deletion, but cannot guarantee data availability after account termination.
11. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Resourface shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, binding arbitration.
